For over a decade I’ve made a hobby and a passion of repairing and reselling vintage drums. I look for compromised shells, damaged wraps, missing parts, anything that can make a drum easier to acquire and fun to fix.
I do wraps, painted finishes, hole repairs large and small, repro badges and tags, thread repairs, shell truing, and bearing edges of all types.
I can identify problems, missing parts, etc. and prescribe a solution to most any damaged drum. My favorite aspects of drum repair are woodworking challenges i.e. extra holes and edge flaws.
My goal is generally to bring old drums up to era-correct specs. I especially like to work on Gretsch and Slingerland drums from before 1970.
